5 reasons it's important to pursue your life's dream

 2-minute read

We may have held a life's dream closely, believing it will never happen to us, the idea is stupid, we're too old now to pursue it, ______ (fill in the blank). We as midlife women can so easily self-censor, for a variety of reason.

But when it comes to pursuing your life's dream, your calling, is very unwise to self-censor.  Here are just 5 reasons (there are many more) why it's important to pursue your life's dream.

When you pursue your life's dream:

  1. The very essence of yourself is expressed, as your life's dream at the core of who you are. To deny that dream is to deny yourself.
  2. You may inspire someone to follow theirs, changing their life in the process.
  3. You will become more content, engaged, even joyous
  4. You will be giving to the world something no one else can give:  your uniqueness.
  5. You will be challenged, stretched and do things you never thought you could, making you an even more interesting human...

TUESDAY TIDBITS: 8 Graphics Trends for 2017

Uncategorized Mar 07, 2017

By Sandie Eggers

In last week's TUESDAY TIDBITS, I briefly talked about updating the visual elements of your brand, such as logo, website, and so on.

It got me to thinking:  If you're going to evaluate your graphics, what does "up-to-date" look like?  Well, Venngage, the go-to place on the web for info graphics, has created an info graphic showcasing 8 trends for 2017.

A WORD OF CAUTION:  When it comes to your brand, I am not recommending you go willy-nilly, embracing all of these trends without regard to what your brand stands for.

For example, if one of your brand attributes is "traditional", embracing all of these modern trends would fly in the face of who you are, who you say you are, and who your customers/clients know you as.

At the same time, a "traditional" brand should not mean "outdated company." There is a way to update even a traditional brand without its losing its traditionalism. To do so requires the skills of a graphic artist who also...

Here's a very interesting article from the Business Insider regarding the near-inevitability of brands having to go "political" to remain authentic. What do you think?

TUESDAY TIDBITS: 3 Brand Problems & Their Fixes

Uncategorized Feb 28, 2017

By Sandie Eggers

To conduct a thorough brand review requires much more than addressing the 3 problem areas I'm sharing now. However, as you begin thinking about these problems and their solution, you'll have a better understanding of the key elements of your brand, any problems with your brand, and solutions to those problem.

PROBLEM #1:  Do your customers/clients share the same brand image as you?

Some of the tell tale signs that they do not are customer/client comments like:

      • "Oh, I didn't know you carried that product/provided that service"
      • "You say in your Values Statement you are  'X' but I've only experienced 'Y' with you. This seems inauthentic."
      • "I started doing business with you because of 'A' but, so far, I've not seen 'A'"

SOLUTION;  Develop a customer questionnaire to probe deeper and ask a few of your ideal customers to respond. You may want to give them a little incentive to do so, like a discount on their next purchase, a free...
